Arts therapy...

It starts with you

Sometimes it’s hard to find words for our emotions. Arts psychotherapy offers children and adults of all ages and abilities a creative alternative to traditional counselling.

Real Connections combines the therapeutic powers of creative expressions (visual art, nature, music, movement, drama and play) with counselling and psychotherapy, tapping into the subconscious in ways that are more difficult to reach via traditional methods of counselling.

Real Connections Art Therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals, groups and families to explore creative processes while applying psychological theory and lived experiences within a therapeutic relationship.

Begin your journey towards personal growth, self-healing, awareness and connection.

Hi I'm Soraya

IMG_4143 ME.jpg

I completed my BA Arts Psychotherapy at IKON Institute of Australia. Currently, I practice in Mornington, where I have a fully equipped studio space that provides clients with a safe and nurturing environment to delve into their inner world.

My personal experiences have greatly influenced my passion for helping others. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, supporting individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Whether it's facilitating women's groups, assisting those with anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges, or aiding individuals with addictive behaviors, my aim is to create a space where individuals can feel seen, heard, and supported.

One aspect of my work that I find particularly rewarding is working with children and teens,  developing art therapy programs. These programs focus on fostering growth and development by utilizing art as a therapeutic tool. Additionally, I have experience working with individuals of all abilities, emphasizing the significance of art as a means of expression and finding meaning in the present moment.

As a therapist, my approach is gentle and compassionate. I believe in walking alongside my clients as they navigate their inner world, offering support and guidance throughout their therapeutic journey.

I look forward to meeting you and assisting you in exploring your inner world and finding healing through art therapy.

Soraya
